There is no industry standard, so brands use the names loosely. As a rule, yellow is a light tint that takes the edge off bright screens, amber or orange is a medium-to-strong tint that filters most blue light, and red filters nearly all blue plus most green. When an orange lens makes sense
The two or three hours before bed, when you are still on a laptop, watching TV, gaming or scrolling. Colours shift warm, but you can still follow a film or read a screen comfortably. Many people find that a warmer view in the evening simply feels calmer than a bright white screen.
Not for: driving at night, or any task needing accurate colour. Tinted lenses reduce the light reaching your eyes.
